Fredrik and Catherine Eaton Fellowships
The Fredrik and Catherine Eaton Visitorship Awards scheme supports scholarship and mobility in the context of exchanges between Queen’s University Belfast and the University of New Brunswick, Canada.
Fredrik S. Eaton, Chancellor of the University of New Brunswick from 1993 to 2003, and his wife Catherine established the Queen’s University Belfast – University of New Brunswick (UNB) Exchange Program in 2000 and contributed CA$1 million over a five-year period to endow the program. Thanks to their generosity, funds are available to support postgraduate students and staff to study and conduct research in collaboration with the University of New Brunswick.
Visitorship awards are available to both Staff and Postgraduate Students based in any school at Queen’s and are provided to undertake research and educational activities at UNB campuses in Fredericton and Saint John, New Brunswick.
The scholarships are primarily intended to support individuals between January 2023 and June 2024 (including summer 2023) and will cover travel, visas, accommodation and research expenses up to a maximum of CA$10,000.
Any funding requirements for the Visitorship over and above this amount must be met through alternative sources.
Note: Successful applicants will be required to give a lecture at each of UNB’s two main campuses as part of their Visitorship programme.
