The Ambassador Experience - More Than Just a Title

As a Global Student Ambassador at Queen's, you represent the university's prestigious image and you also are a beacon of excitement, knowledge, and connection. The role of a Student Ambassador at Queen's offers a wide range of experiences and opportunities for personal and professional development, from leading campus tours to creating engaging social media content.

As an international student at Queen's, this has provided an opportunity for me to make deep connections within the academic community while sharing my unwavering enthusiasm for the prestigious institution.

What are the benefits of being a student ambassador?

Being a Student Ambassador is a tremendously rewarding opportunity that goes far beyond the invaluable experiences it offers. We get to contribute to the university's success while also earning remuneration for our efforts.

Campus Tours - Showcasing Queen's Pride

Set out on an expedition to show prospective students and their families the vibrant Queen's campus. From iconic landmarks to cutting-edge facilities such as Queen’s Film Theatre and McClay Library, you'll guide them around every corner, sharing your personal thoughts and experiences along the way. Guiding campus tours was one of the most rewarding components of my ambassadorship.

I recall the moments I spent leading eager prospective students and their families around our lovely campus, sharing experiences, identifying noteworthy locations, and demonstrating the outstanding resources that have impacted my academic journey. Seeing the astonishment and delight in their expressions as they saw themselves as integral students of the Queen's community was undeniably rewarding.

You'll engage with a global audience through intriguing articles, stories, and live sessions, giving them an inside look at Queen's and enticing them to join our community. In today's digital age, social media has a huge impact on forming views and affecting decision-making processes.

As a Global Student Ambassador, I took the opportunity to become a social media influencer, sharing my first hand experiences, thoughts, and narratives across multiple platforms. The goal is to provide an accurate and fascinating depiction of the Queen's experience.

Open Days and Recruitment - Inspiring Future Students

Open days and recruitment events serve as entry points for potential students to begin their academic journeys. As a Student Ambassador, you will play an important part in greeting guests and giving them essential guidance, thereby cultivating a welcoming environment. These opportunities allowed me to interact with potential students, answer their queries, and express my real passion for Queen's University.

Whether participating in panel discussions, presenting student accomplishments, or simply engaging in informal talks, I valued the opportunity to meet with those considering their educational pathways and maybe influence their decision to join our institution.

You'll use your creativity across several platforms, such as blogs and vlogs, to create engaging material that captures the soul of Queen's. Whether you're recounting student anecdotes or highlighting campus events, your content will serve as a window into the vibrant Queen's experience.

From curating blogs and vlogs to contributing to marketing brochures and digital content, I have had the opportunity to demonstrate my creative abilities and storytelling skills. Through these, I conveyed my unique viewpoint as an international student, highlighting Queen's rich diversity and inclusive attitude, as well as its great educational programmes.
