Who is Eligible: Applicants from China studying postgraduate taught programmes at Queen's Business School in 2024/25.

LLB Law Senior Status Scholarship

Scholarship Value: £4000

For your first year of study when enrolling on LLB Law Senior Status.

Who is Eligible: Students enrolling Autumn 2024 will be automatically assessed for the LLB Law Senior Status Scholarship award.
Application Process: No application necessary. Students will be automatically assessed for the award.

This award is exclusively for new international students beginning their first year of full-time study on the graduate entry Law Senior Status (LLB HONS) accelerated qualifying law degree at Queen's University Belfast in the academic year 2024/25 who meet the conditions of their academic offer.

No separate application for this scholarship is required. If you are holding an offer for graduate entry Law Senior Status (LLB HONS) accelerated qualifying law degree and meet the criteria as set out in these terms & conditions, you will automatically be awarded the LLB Senior Status International Scholarship upon enrolment.

Queen's Excellence Award

Scholarship Value: £2000-£3000

Who is Eligible: This merit-based award is exclusive to International Students who commenced a full-time and full duration undergraduate programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus. Exclusions apply.

September 2023 - eligible students who achieve a 75% GPA in the academic year 2023 will be awarded a merit-based award of £2000 in the subsequent academic year (unless on placement, whereby the award will be made the following year).

September 2024 - eligible students who achieve a 60% GPA in the academic year 2024 will be awarded a merit-based award of £3000 in the subsequent academic year (unless on placement, whereby the award will be made the following year).

Students who maintain a minimum GPA of 60% may receive this award in consecutive years.

Early Confirmation Award

Scholarship Value: £1500

Reduction in tuition fees for Year 1

Who is Eligible: New international students with unconditional offers for the academic year 2024/25 may receive a discount of £1500 when paying their tuition fees in full* by the appropriate deadline.
Application Process: No application necessary, however students must email proof of payment confirmation to International Scholarships by the appropriate deadlines.

A £1500 reduction in tuition fees is available to new international students beginning a full-time course in the academic year 2024/25 who hold an unconditional offer and pay tuition fees less any International Office awards including the Early Confirmation Award by the following deadlines:

The CQC Queen's Scholar Award will be offered to four CQC students beginning their full time Postgraduate Research programme at Queen's University Belfast in the academic year 2024/25.

About the Award

The CQC Queen’s Scholarship of £9,000, is awarded as a £3,000 reduction on gross tuition fees each year, up to a maximum of three years.
Four CQC Queen’s Scholarships are available and will be awarded to qualifying CQC students who are progressing to a Postgraduate Research programme at Queen’s University Belfast in 2024/25.
Application required.
The deadline for application is 4.00pm (CST) on Friday, 10 May 2024.

The Scholarships will be awarded to students with the highest final aggregate marks from their BSc degree.

2024 Queen’s/China Scholarship Council PhD Scholarships

Up to 20 full PhD scholarships are available for candidates starting their studies in the 2024-25 academic year

Applicants currently in the first year of a PhD programme at Queen's in the 2023-24 academic year may also apply, if they meet the eligibility requirements (including academic criteria and English language). Such applicants must have commenced their PhD on or after 1 September 2023 in order to be eligible for consideration.

Scholarship Value

Queen’s University Belfast provides a full tuition fee scholarship for successful applicants. For those commencing the first year of PhD studies in 2024, the scholarship will cover up to three years full-time international PhD tuition fees, and one year thesis only/writing up charge (approximately £360). The award is subject to registration at Queen’s, continued funding by the China Scholarship Council and to confirmation of satisfactory progress.

The China Scholarship Council provides:

• Maintenance stipend (as specified by the CSC)
• One economy class return journey from China to the UK
• Funding to cover visa application fees

Eligibility

(i) Candidates must be citizens of the People's Republic of China at the time of application, and either permanently resident in China or studying overseas. (Those working overseas are not eligible.)

It should be noted that citizens of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are not eligible for consideration under the CSC joint funding route. Candidates must hold a PRC passport.

(ii) Successful candidates must return to China upon completion of their degree.

(iii) Candidates will also be required to satisfy the selection criteria set out by CSC. Details can be found on the website: China Scholarship Council.
