I will be a new Undergraduate applicant progressing from International Study Centre - which scholarships are available?
International Undergraduate Scholarship - For all* new undergraduate applicants NO application required.
Queen's Family Scholarship - Application required.
Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship - Application required.
International Study Centre Scholarship - Can be combined with another International Office administered scholarship to increase the value of your award.
LLB Law Senior Status Scholarship- No application required.
Exceptions apply to all award so please check the terms and conditions.
*Most programmes are eligible, but the following programmes are excluded:
- Undergraduate: Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology and Theology.
- ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.
- How do I apply for International Scholarships for undergraduates?
No application is required for the International Undergraduate Scholarship or the LLB Senior Status Scholarship We will automatically assess your application and if you are eligible, we will issue confirmation of your award with your offer if you have made a direct application to study at the University or shortly after you've received your offer if you have applied through UCAS..
Contact us at internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk quoting your name and application reference if you haven't received confirmation.
All other awards require you to make an application, but you should only do this after you have been offered a place to study on your chosen programme.

- What are the values of International Scholarships available for an undergraduate classroom based fee rate 1 programme?
Fee rate 1 programmes are classroom based and have a tuition fee of £20,800 for 2024/25
International Undergraduate Scholarship offers £3500 for eligible Fee Rate 1 Programmes for your first year of study.
Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship offers 50% reduction on tuition fees for all years of your programme.
Queen's Family Scholarship offers 20% reduction on tuition fees for your first year of study.
INTO Progressors Scholarship a £1500 reduction on tuition fees for unconditional offer holders paying tuition fees in full by the deadline.
LLB Law Senior Status Scholarship a fee reduction of £4000 for your first year of study.

- Do all undergraduate programmes receive International Undergraduate Scholarships?
Most programmes are eligible, but the following programmes are excluded:
- Undergraduate: Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology, Theology

What is the ISC Scholarship?
The ISC Scholarship is a discount of £1500 on tuition fees for new international students who have an unconditional offer and pay tuition fees in full* by the specified deadline.
*Deduct the ISCScholarship and any other scholarship which has been confirmed by International Scholarships.
- How do I qualify for the ISC Scholarship?
You must comply with all the following conditions by the appropriate deadline:
- Be a new student enrolling at Queen's University Belfast for the first time,
- Have an unconditional offer.
- Pay your tuition fees in full after deducting the ISC Scholarship and any other scholarship which has been confirmed by International Scholarships.
Please note:
Students who are required to successfully complete a Pre-Sessional English programme at International Study Centre in order to satisfy the English language condition of their offer, are NOT eligible for the ISC Scholarship.
Students who are studying Academic English are NOT eligible for the ISC Scholarship.
- What is the deadline for the ISC Scholarship?
The following deadlines apply:
- Undergraduate students must pay their full* Year 1 tuition fees by 14 September 2025 to avail of the discount, subject to meeting our Terms & Conditions*This is to prevent delays in CAS issuance during the peak period.
*Full tuition fees are your full tuition fee rate as given on your offer letter less the ISC Scholarship and any other scholarship which has been confirmed by International Scholarships.
- When will I receive my ISC Scholarship?
Please contact internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk with your proof of payment and we will credit your discount to your tuition fee account. If you fail to notify us we cannot award your discount.

How do I apply for the Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship?
You must have received an offer of a place to study at the University on one of the programmes listed below which you have firmly accepted, completed the online application form and submitted a short video by the deadline.

The selection of our Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholars is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful.
All scholarships are offered subject to terms and conditions.
- Can I send supporting documents to support my application?
Please do not send references, academic transcripts or any form of supporting documentation with your scholarship application.
Any documents will be deleted and will not be taken into consideration by the panel.
Your application should consist of your online application form and video submission.
- Are there any guidance notes to help with my video?
Your video should outline why you want to come and study at Queen's University Belfast and how you believe your programme of choice will benefit you in your future career aspirations. Please keep to the subject matter, we do not require a list of your academic achievements.
Guidelines
The criteria are not for high quality video production, you will be judged on the content and the quality of presentation skills only.
- Please ensure that your video is clearly audible.
- If we cannot open your video your submission will not be accepted.
- Please ensure that you clearly identify your submission by including your Queen's University Belfast application reference and your full name on the email which accompanies your video.
- Any videos that exceed the requested length of 2 minutes will NOT be considered.
Please ensure that your video can be opened and viewed by us using VLC media player. VLC media player supports many video file formats, and we would recommend MP4.
We would suggest using WeTransfer to send your video and would ask that you test it to ensure that it can be opened, before sending.
- How many awards are there?
There are 4 awards for exceptional undergraduate students.
- How will I know if I have been awarded the Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship?
We contact the successful candidates by telephone in the first instance no later than the end of July.
Please be aware we contact only the successful candidates.
If you have not been contacted by the end of July you may assume you have been unsuccessful.
