Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship - Undergraduate Terms and Conditions
Four scholarships offering a 50% reduction on full tuition fees are available to exceptionally talented international students paying international tuition fee rates who will be starting their full-time undergraduate studies on an eligible programme at Queen’s University Belfast in the academic year 2025/26.
A 50% reduction on full tuition fees paid for all years of the programme, up to a maximum of four years (including advanced entry into Year 2 or Year 3) will be offered to the successful candidate who will be studying one the following programmes:
- BSc Actuarial Science and Risk Management
- BSc Biochemistry
- BSc Biological Sciences
- BSc Biomedical Science
- BSc Business Management with Placement
- BEng Chemical Engineering
- BSc Chemistry
- BEng Civil Engineering
- BSc Data Science
- BA Education Studies
- BSc Environmental Management
- BSc Food Science & Nutrition
- LLB Law
- LLB Law Senior Status
- BSc Mathematics
- BSc Microbiology
- BSc Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
- BSc Pharmaceutical Sciences
- BSc Physics

Applicants can only apply and be considered for the Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship-Undergraduate after they have been offered a place to study on one of the programmes listed above and confirmed Queen’s University Belfast as their FIRM choice by their UCAS deadline. Applications cannot be considered in advance of applicants meeting these two criteria.

Terms and Conditions Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship 2025/26 - Undergraduate
- Students must hold an offer of a full-time place at the Queen’s University Belfast campus for the academic year 2025/26 on one of the undergraduate programmes specified below:
- BSc Actuarial Science and Risk Management
- BSc Biochemistry
- BSc Biological Sciences
- BSc Biomedical Science
- BSc Business Management with Placement
- BEng Chemical Engineering
- BSc Chemistry
- BEng Civil Engineering
- BSc Data Science
- BA Education Studies
- BSc Environmental Management
- BSc Food Science & Nutrition
- LLB Law
- LLB Law Senior Status
- BSc Mathematics
- BSc Microbiology
- BSc Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
- BSc Pharmaceutical Sciences
- BSc Physics
- Applicants applying for the above named programmes with an additional year in industry are also eligible to apply as are those selecting a 4 or 5 year undergraduate master’s programme in the above named programmes.
- Only the programmes listed under Point 1 are eligible for the Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship-Undergraduate 2025/26, all other programmes are excluded from eligibility.
- The offer to study at Queen’s University Belfast must be confirmed as the applicant’s FIRM choice by their UCAS deadline.
- Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes are also excluded from eligibility.
- To be eligible for consideration applicants must have accepted their offer of a place to study on one of the specified programmes by the scholarship deadline. Applicants who change their original programme choice after the scholarship deadline, Thursday 05 June 2025 at 15:00 BST, will not be considered.
- Prior to commencement of study applicants must have met any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter.
- Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the full international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for the scholarship. Students paying NI, ROI, EU or GB fees are not eligible for the Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship-Undergraduate.
- The scholarship will cover 50% of the full cost of tuition fees and is awarded each year for up to a maximum of four years.
- To be eligible for the scholarship applicants must complete the online application form and submit a video as detailed on the application form within the deadline, Thursday 05 June 2025 at 15:00 BST.
- Applicants should ensure that videos are submitted in good time. Any videos received after the deadline, Thursday 05 June 2025 at 15:00 BST, will not be considered.
- The Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship-Undergraduate awarded is for entry to Queen’s University Belfast in the autumn semester of the academic year 2025/26 and cannot be used for 2026/27 entry or any other year.
- If you wish to defer your entry to the University your scholarship will not be transferred.
- Students must be self-funded i.e. be paying the tuition fees for the course yourself at the international rate.
- If you are in receipt of funding (either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external sponsorship body such as Government, a charity or a private organisation you will not be eligible for the Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship-Undergraduate. This excludes students in receipt of educational loans.
- In the event that a student has received scholarship offers for a number of different programmes at Queen’s University, they will only be able to redeem one scholarship award. This will be the scholarship award for the course onto which they enrol in the 2025/26 academic year.
- Students must request authorisation from International Scholarships before making any changes to their programme of study. Where changes are made without authorisation being granted, the scholarship may be withdrawn, and students may be required to repay the scholarship in full.
- Applicants may apply and/or be considered for more than one tuition fee award administered by Queen’s University Belfast but if successful would receive only the highest value award with the lower value award cancelled or allocated to another applicant.
- The Vice Chancellor’s International Attainment Scholarship-Undergraduate may be combined with the Early Confirmation Award or INTO Progression Scholarship where eligible.
- The University is unable to consider requests for increased and/or further funding. The amount of scholarship offered is non-negotiable.
- The University’s decision regarding successful scholars of the programme is final, and no further correspondence shall be entered into.
- Feedback on submissions cannot be provided.
- The University reserves the right to vary all or any scholarship awards, discounts and regulations at its sole discretion.
