Faculty Research Committee |
This Committee has overall responsibility for ensuring the successful delivery of the research component of Strategy 2030 across the Faculty and keeping it under review. The Committee is chaired by the Faculty Dean of Research and includes the five School Directors of Research, the Directors of the Mitchell Institute and QCAP, the Faculty Research Development Manager, as well as other representatives from the postdoctoral community, Faculty Finance and the Research and Enterprise directorate. It meets every month and reports to Faculty Executive Board. |
School Research Committees |
These Committees are responsible for developing a research strategy for their respective Schools and ensuring its successful implementation. Each Committee is chaired by the School's Director of Research and core membership includes those with responsibility for leadership of CDRGs, REF UoAs and Impact. For research structures and contacts within each School, click here. School Research Committees report to their respective School Management Board. |
Core Disciplinary Research Groups (CDRGs) |
There are 11 CDRGs across the Faculty, located within Schools. CDRGs provide the main basis for organising, supporting and profiling research within Schools in relation to core disciplinary areas. Research Institutes, Centres and Networks |
The Faculty's flagship interdisciplinary research Institute is the Senator George J Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. Located within our Schools are a number of other major research units, including: QCAP, the Institute of Irish Studies, Queen's Media Lab, the Sonic Arts Research Centre and the Seamus Heaney Centre.
