Northern Ireland (NI) has a new vision for the future. One driven by AI innovation. In alignment with the Department for Economy’s vision for the future, the AI Collaboration Centre (AICC) will promote widespread adoption of AI across all sectors. The AICC will fuel innovation and economic growth by focusing on enhancing digital sectors, promoting collaboration, and addressing skills gaps.

Through the collaboration centre, Queen’s University and Ulster University are offering a range of fully funded postgraduate places, that will equip graduates with the technical skills and creative drive necessary to achieve AI success in Northern Ireland.

Masters Courses: Apply for a Fully Funded Place on these 1-year programmes
MSc Artificial Intelligence:

Course Description: Investigate AI fundamentals and immerse yourself in the main areas being used in the industry. Topics covered include Machine Learning, Knowledge Engineering and Natural Language Processing
MSc Applied Cyber Security

Course Description: The world's online security depends on you. Learn cutting-edge cyber security techniques such as cryptography, computer forensics, network security and secure software development.
MSc Electronics

Course Description: Deepen your understanding of a range of advanced electronics subjects including, microelectronics, sensors, signal processing, hardware and software design.
MSc Data Analytics

Course Description: Find meaning in the detail. There is a huge and growing demand for skilled data analysts who can extract meaning and real benefit from data. This course will teach you those skills.

 

PgCert Course: Worth 60 CATS 

This programme is offered as a part-time study option, delivered on-campus one or two days a week over two semesters. Please note, this is not an evening class. The PgCert can be built upon to achieve a full MSc by completing the PGDip and a final project or dissertation. Upon successful completion of the PGCert, you may be eligible for funding to progress to the next stage.

PgCert Artificial Intelligence

Course Description: A starting point to prepare students to embark on an industrial career or further research studies, with knowledge and skills in AI mathematics, knowledge representation and reasoning, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and data analytics.

PgCert Applied Cyber Security

Course Description: An innovative programme at the forefront of technical advances in Cyber Security topics such as Network Security & Monitoring, Software Assurance and Penetration Testing. This applied course mixes theoretical skills with practical lab work to give you hands-on experience.

PgCert Data Analytics

Course Description: Gain essential expertise in statistical analysis, programming fundamentals, and cutting-edge data visualization techniques. You’ll explore topics like predictive modelling, SQL, and interactive decision-making tools.

Eligibility for Funding

To qualify for a fully funded place, you must meet the following requirements:

A limited number of fully funded places (provided by the Department for the Economy) are available for these programmes on a first-come, first-served basis.

To be eligible for a fully funded place under this programme you must:

  • Be over 18-years-old;
  • Resident in Northern Ireland;
  • Eligible to work in Northern Ireland;
  • ‘Settled’ in Northern Ireland, and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years OR are a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK. 
  • Must meet the existing entry requirements for the course.

The Application Process

  • Applications are now open
  • Funded offers will be made on a first come first serve basis until funded places are filled.
  • If successful, you will have a deadline of 2 weeks to confirm your offer and pay a £100 deposit to secure your place with funding. (You will receive your deposit back after you matriculate onto the course).
  • Once funded places have been filled and if there are still places on the course, you may still apply for a self-funded place.
