WHAT TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU APPLY
Important factors to consider when choosing your accommodation
It is important when applying for accommodation for the 2024-25 academic year that you have considered a variety of factors to ensure you have chosen what is right for you.
We would recommend that you consider the following factors:
- Contract length: Undergraduate students have the option of a 40 or 48 week contract, with postgraduate students having the option of a 48 or 51 week contract. Students living in Student Roost properties have the option of a 44 or 51 week contract.
- Lifestyle Options: At Queen's we offer some accommodation which is single gender, quiet living, no alcohol and Irish language accommodation. If you would like to be allocated one of these rooms, please indicate this on your application. Please note these rooms are subject to availability at the time of allocation.
- Room Type: We have several room options: small standard, standard, en suite, studios and one to six bed apartments for you to choose from (depending on location chosen). You can view our images and 360 degree tours on our property pages.
- Cost: Please be aware that our comprehensive, all-inclusive accommodation prices vary from £85 per week up to £237 for 2024-25, making us one of the cheapest accommodation providers in Belfast. Please ensure you consider your budget when applying for accommodation.
- Special Requirements: If you have any additional needs, please contact disability.office@qub.ac.uk or the Allocations team allocations@qub.ac.uk for advice prior to submitting your online application.
LIFESTYLE OPTIONS
Finding the accommodation that fits your lifestyle requirements
Accommodation for students wishing to make a specific 'lifestyle' choice is offered in some locations. Please ensure you check the accommodation details when selecting your preferences.
There is a limited availability for:
No alcohol - consumption of alcohol is not permitted at any time in the building
Single Gender- members of the opposite gender are not permitted at any time (this includes guests who may wish to stay overnight)
Quiet Living - you are living with students who have chosen a more study focused environment and noise must be always kept to a minimum.
Irish Language Accommodation - Irish speaking students have the option of living in dedicated accommodation to allow them to continue to develop their language skills and support academic studies. Preference for places will be for students who are studying full time on a course in which Irish language is taught.
