Couples and families
Take the stress out of relocating your family for your studies with a fully furnished, contemporary style accommodation at Queen’s University.
We offer a limited number of two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments. Demand for partner and family accommodation is extremely high. We would recommend that you submit an online accommodation application as soon as possible (the application for 2025-26 will open mid-February 2025) ensuring you provide us with all relevant family information including the number and age of all children. We will contact you once you submit your application to discuss your requirements and accommodation options.

Private sector accommodation
If we do not have suitable accommodation available, further information on private sector accommodation, along with a list of local estate agents and other useful websites for local rental properties can be found here.
Students can also contact the Students’ Union for support when considering accommodation in the private sector – visit Advice SU for great support and guidance.
Affordable Childcare
Students with children can avail of childcare services in a lovely environment located close to the main university site and within walking distance of the accommodation for student with families.
The day care provides healthy and nutritious meals taking into consideration food intolerance, allergies, parental/religious preferences and has indoor/outdoor play facilities. The cost of childcare in the United Kingdom is a major concern for parents but compared to private day care providers, childcare at Queen’s is one of the most affordable especially for the standard they offer.
Like with accommodation, you are advised to contact Childcare at Queen's as soon as you accept your offer in order to reserve a place for your child.
Register with a Doctor
As soon as you settle in your accommodation, contact the University Health Centre to arrange an appointment and register your family. If you have a child within immunisation age, come along with your immunisation card.
How to Apply
Details on the accommodation allocation policy can be found here.
Due to the high demand of applications each year from students with dependants, for example, a spouse, partner, children or chaperone, and with limited accommodation available we cannot guarantee you accommodation. Early submission of applications is recommended.
Please note that all relevant information regarding personal circumstances including details of family/group members (including the number of adults and children) must be provided on the online accommodation application form.
