Settling In
SETTLING IN
Welcome events take place in the Treehouse at Elms BT9 and in the student lounges in Elms BT1 and Elms BT2. Ensure to get involved as soon as you can, as you’ll have the opportunity to meet your flatmates, other residents, and maybe even some students from your course.
Follow us on social media on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok as soon as you can so you can keep track of what's happening in your residence. Also keep up to date by reading our weekly newsletter sent to your email address after check-in. Say hello to your Residential Assistant responsible for your accommodation as well.
Your first week
During your first week you will meet your Residential Life Co-ordinator and Residential Assistant. They will introduce themselves and ensure you’re settling in.
It’s a good idea to spend some time personalising your room and creating your own space. If you’re feeling a little homesick or lost, don’t worry. We’re always here to support you. Come along to our weekly events and programmes to engage and meet with the rest of the community.
You can always speak to one of the Residential Life Co-ordinator for some advice, general information, or just a chat.
Your first month
During your first month you will have got to know Queen’s. Hopefully you will have had an opportunity to attend an event and getting to meet some new friends. Activities will vary throughout the year so that they complement your academic life rather than compete with any other priorities.
By now you'll also be familiar with your on-site staff reception staff, and they'll always be happy to help you with anything you need.
