Jamie Dornan among host of celebrities congratulating Queen’s graduates

Actor Jamie Dornan joined former Queen’s students and Honorary Graduates to congratulate thousands of students taking part in Graduation ceremonies at the University.

Actor Jamie Dornan joined former Queen’s students and Honorary Graduates to congratulate thousands of students taking part in Graduation ceremonies at the University. 

The actor, along with Formula One Pundit Bernie Collins and former Boxer Carl Frampton, recorded their memories of Queen’s and sent some inspirational messages to the new graduates. 

Jamie Dornan reflected on the impact Queen’s has had on his family and wider society, saying: “I myself am a graduate of Queen’s, albeit an Honorary Doctor from that very fine University, which I’m very proud of. It’s a great institution which means a lot to my family as my father was a graduate and did a lot of work for Queen’s. It’s a great uni, doing amazing things and leading the way. I hope that all of you have a great day today and go on to do exciting things in your future.” 

Former professional boxer Carl Frampton sent his congratulations to the students saying: “Congratulations to each and every one of you on your graduation, it’s an amazing achievement and something you should be very proud of.” 

FI Pundit Bernie Collins, who studied Mechanical Engineering at Queen’s and was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate for her contribution to Sport, said: “Congratulations everyone on your Graduation from Queen’s. I’m sure that with the experience you have gained at Queen’s, you can go on to do really great things. Enjoy today; it's been a long, hard road to graduation, I remember it fondly. Good luck for whatever the future holds for each and every one of you.” 

Also sending their best wishes were broadcasters Mark Simpson and Arron Armstrong, Lady Chief Justice Dame Siobhan Keegan, Astrophysicist Aswin Sekhar and TV Chef Suzie Lee Arbuthnot alongside Queen’s Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Student Union President.
