Bright Future Collective

The Bright Future Collective brings together a network of businesses to support students from under-represented groups who face additional barriers in accessing higher education.  Businesses involved in the Bright Future Collective make philanthropic gifts to the Pathway Bursary Fund and engage with current and prospective students to highlight career opportunities, give industry insights and create positive social change.

The Bright Future Collective
Collaboration is key to success

Working in partnership with Queen’s, your company will connect with current and prospective students who have engaged with the Pathway Opportunity Programme, our flagship widening participation initiative. Your philanthropic commitment will provide bursaries to Pathway Students, helping to alleviate the financial pressure they face during their studies, helping them to unlock the doors to their future success.

What our supporters say

"Henderson Group have been supporting the Pathway Bursary Fund through our involvement with the Bright Future Collective since 2022.  We are so proud to be part of this initiative which has tangible benefits for people in our local community.  Through our retail outlets, Henderson Group are at the heart of communities across Northern Ireland and we feel it is important to support social mobility and create positive change for people here, and that access to education is a key aspect of that.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of this partnership is the opportunity to meet students who have received a Pathway Bursary and hear how the bursary is helping them during their studies.  We've been delighted to be able to offer workplace visits to participants of the Pathway Opportunity Programme and taken part in networking events with current Pathway Students, giving them an insight into possible future career opportunities with Henderson Group. This work is so important to us and we are delighted to be able to work with Queen's in this way."

“Growing up, I always dreamed of going to university. Being the first in my family to attend, it was a significant milestone for me. As a young kid, I had a somewhat silly, but heartfelt wish – I wanted my picture, in my academic gown, on my grandparents’ wall. This dream was not just for me, but also for my parents and grandparents, who never had the same opportunities due to their backgrounds.” Coailfhionn Niamh McKee
