The transition to net zero has already begun. Global emission targets are being set so we know what we must achieve. Getting there will be challenging though and will create huge growth in the demand for qualified experts and engineers who can develop solutions to help create a greener society.

Those solutions need to be deployed across a diverse range of sectors including energy systems manufacturing, policy development, transport, safety, buildings, renewable energy consultancy, carbon management and research and innovation this MSc provides you with the skills and experience needed to do all that.

The programme provides a balanced route to learning through a blend of academic study and technical sessions, with a heavy focus on addressing the engineering associated with achieving net zero-emission targets. In the first and second semesters, you will study 6 modules full-time which will give you the skills and knowledge to become an expert in sustainable and low-carbon energy production. In the third semester, you will undertake a research-based project that will give you hands-on practical experience of a range of techniques used in the renewable energy sector from energy generation, to systems modelling and evaluation. 

You will be supported by excellent access to digital networks and learning resources and extensive use of well-equipped laboratories. You will be assigned a personal tutor to provide pastoral and academic care throughout the entire programme as well as being taught in classes of around 30 alongside fellow students from around the globe.
