Overview

This study will examine the mental health, and emotional wellbeing needs of women and men experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss. It will involve a systematic review of the international literature and mixed-methods primary research.

Background:
Research suggests that women who experience recurrent pregnancy loss (defined as the loss of two or more pregnancies) have an increased risk for psychological distress and poorer quality of life. There is little research on the impacts of recurrent pregnancy loss on men and, given the potential impact of cultural influences on parent experiences, there is a need for more international studies on this topic.

Aim and objectives:
The study aims to explore the mental health, and emotional wellbeing needs of women and men experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss.

Methodology:
The study will involve a systematic review of the international literature and mixed-methods primary research, including a cross-sectional survey and qualitative interviews.

Expected outcomes:
The results of the study will inform recommendations for policy and practice.
