Facilities & Bookings

A state of the art facility
Providing a supportive learning environment

The Thomas J. Moran Graduate School is equipped with a range of facilities to support your studies. We offer group study, teaching and meeting rooms, training facilities, a social space and a silent study area exclusively for the use of postgraduate students.

Facilities

The Thomas J. Moran Graduate School is equipped with a range of facilities to support your studies:

  • Group study and teaching rooms

  • Kitchen area for students

  • Meeting rooms

  • Training facilities

  • Social spaces

  • Silent study area for up to 65 students

You can also use the Thomas J. Moran Graduate School to host your events and activities such as conferences, seminars and presentations, through a Postgraduate-led Initiative.

A reception with staffed services from 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
Silent study area with up to 65 individual work stations
Group study rooms bookable for groups of up to 8 people to work collaboratively on projects.
A dedicated social space to meet and socialise with other postgraduates in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Booking a room
  • Postgraduate students - Group Study Rooms

    Students can book our Group Study Rooms via Queen's Online. The booking system is accessible under Administration > Graduate Study Room Booking.

    *Please note that Group Study Rooms are open for bookings of up to 8 people (depending on room capacity) to work collaboratively.

  • Further information for students

    If you have any issues with the booking system, we advise in the first instance that you try using a different internet browser. If this does not fix the issue, please contact I.T. directly at itservicedesk@qub.ac.uk and send a screenshot or description of your issue. 

    Group study room bookings can be made two days beforehand and no sooner, in line with how other group study rooms in the University operate. Should you wish to make a booking for non-study purposes, please contact graduateschool@qub.ac.uk for advice.

  • Queen's staff members

    Staff can book any of our Teaching Rooms via Room Bookings on Queen's Online, under Teaching Rooms.

Silent Study area
Exclusively for postgraduates

Our Silent Study area hosts 65 individual work stations and provides a quiet space exclusively for postgraduate students, with access to networked printer/scanners.
