Holyland Winter Festival: Capturing the True Essence of Our Community!

Queen’s University Partners with Forward South for the Holyland Winter Festival: Capturing the True Essence of Our Community!

Queen’s University is delighted to collaborate with Forward South to present an event for the Holyland Winter Festival, a celebration of cultural diversity and community spirit.

Organised and coordinated by Forward South, the Holyland Winter Festival is more than just a series of events; it’s a movement championing cultural diversity as a cornerstone of community regeneration. The festival fosters engagement, participation, and mutual understanding through meaningful interactions that build authentic connections.

From 2 to 7 December 2024, the Holyland will come alive with the spirit of unity and celebration, shining a spotlight on the area’s incredible community resources - and most importantly, the amazing people who live, work, and study there.

As part of this festival, Queen’s University is hosting a special Sanctuary Coffee Morning dedicated to exploring Winter Traditions from Around the World.

🗓 Date: Wednesday 4 December 2024
Time: 10.00am – 12.30pm
📍 Venue: 48 University Road, Seminar Room (Ground Floor, first door on the right).

During this session, Suyi, Queen’s University’s Student Officer Equality and Diversity, will lead a discussion about winter, December, and end-of-year traditions from the countries we call home.

🫖 Tea, coffee, and buns will be provided.
🧸 There will be toys for children and an Arabic interpreter available.
🌏 Feel free to bring objects, photos, or stories to share about your country’s winter or end-of-year traditions and festivals.
