Refugee Talent Pools

QUB Lecturer Anastasia Kulichyova's research includes the article "The role of talent intermediaries in accessing and developing refugee talent pools" (Francesca Speed, Anastasia Kulichyova, 2021). It examines how talent intermediaries can aid in integrating and nurturing talent from forcibly displaced backgrounds.

Using the Council for At-Risk Academics, as a case study, the authors highlight the critical role of specialised intermediaries in enabling refugee talent to access and thrive in international job markets. Key findings indicate that significant changes in recruitment processes are necessary for refugees to seize global opportunities, emphasizing the need to recognise individual potential, provide organisational support, and ensure access to opportunities.

The study underscores the importance of cross-sector partnerships and tailored intermediary support in addressing the professional development and workforce integration of refugees, and contributes to discussions on diversity, global talent management, and migration studies by demonstrating how intermediaries can help refugee talent overcome barriers and achieve global mobility.
