A report undertaken by Nicola Carr (Nottingham University) and Siobhán McAlister (CCR) examining developments in youth justice reform in NI over the past ten years was launched in Parliament Buildings in November 2021. This highlights areas in which children’s rights continue to be compromised due to a failure to implement Youth Justice Review recommendations. Speaking at the event, Naomi Long Minister for Justice, reiterated her support for a welfare based system and to raising the minimum age of criminal responsibility in Northern Ireland.
