I am an ethnomusicologist from a multicultural background, with roots in Ireland and in continental Europe. I live in Belfast, where I have played and studied music for many years. I play traditional Irish music on the mandolin, whistle, concertina and bodhrán, and Turkish folk music on the bağlama (saz), which I have been teaching to ethnomusicology ensembles at QUB. For my Turkish repertoire, I was adopted as honorary representative musician by the Turkish Association of Northern Ireland.
