Dr Bhatt is about to publish a co-authored volume with Springer entitled ‘Dupery by design: The epistemology of deceit in a postdigital era’. The book examines how deception occurs and proliferates in online discourses. With responses to the theme which are philosophical, discourse-oriented and educational, the book is an interdisciplinary account of how false, misleading, and inaccurate information online is corrupting social relations by increasing xenophobia, suspicion of evidence and the integrity of political processes. Online deception has generated new concerns about rights and freedoms, and implicitly supported the resurgence and escalation of corrupted beliefs in and about politics, science, journalism, and academia.
