MOSAICC Study
A collaborative project between Queen's University Belfast and the University of Aberdeen
Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are a group of rare blood cancers which affect 3 per 100,000 people in the UK. Often patients with this condition have symptoms that lead to a reduced overall quality of life. The MOSAICC study (MyelOproliferative neoplasmS: An In-depth Case-Control) is a UK-wide case-control study that aims to identify what causes MPNs and assess the quality of life and unmet needs of those who suffer from these conditions.
The study includes research sites in the United Kingdom and Ireland. There are currently twenty research sites in the UK (5 in Northern Ireland, 2 in Scotland, 1 in Wales and 11 in England). The three sites in Ireland (Cork, Dublin and Limerick) are still at an early stage and are not currently in a position to recruit participants.
