‘Nutrition for Health Ageing’ in Age and Ageing
In May 2024, Dr Claire McEvoy was a guest editor for the ‘Nutrition and Healthy Ageing’ Supplement in Age and Ageing along with Dr Colin McClure.
This Supplement on ‘Nutrition for Healthy Ageing’ in Age and Ageing features nine articles, mostly original, with two review reports, to better understand the role of nutrition in healthy ageing and highlight gaps in current knowledge. The original research focused on the relations between nutritional intake and status in older adults and outcomes including physical function and cognitive impairment as well as biological ageing. Overall, the Supplement offers valuable insights into the role of nutrition in the ageing process and has identified promising diet strategies to provide protection against age-related conditions including cognitive decline.
