Early Stage Researchers

The REMEDIATE network brings together internationally esteemed multidisciplinary research teams who will train scientists and engineers from diverse disciplines including microbiology, chemistry, toxicology, engineering, materials science, and environmental modelling.

REMEDIATE rovide a high quality and innovative research and training programme for the remediation of contaminated sites, responding to multi and inter-disciplinary needs, and have a clearly defined focus on site investigation, risk assessment, life cycle assessment and effective site remediation.

The network is made up of 14 individual research projects. Each Early Stage Researcher (ESR) will enrol for a PhD, and have an academic supervisor and a non-academic mentor. They will attend three Summer Schools, and take part in secondments to other network beneficiaries and/or partner sites to enhance the multi-disciplinary nature of their research training, the transfer of skills, and the exploitation of expertise.
