Prof. Geraint Ellis is Professor of Environmental Planning in the School of Natural and Built Environment, Queens University, Belfast, Editor of the Journal of Environmental Policy and Planning, and independent member of Ireland’s National Economic and Social Council (NESC). His key research interests are in planning and sustainability, renewable energy, planning governance and healthy urban planning. He has published widely on these topics and led a range of large multi-disciplinary research projects tackling issues such as social engagement with the energy transition (MISTRAL https://mistral-itn.eu/ ) and healthy ageing and the built environment (HULAP). He contributes to a wide range of other studies examining marine spatial planning, environmental regulation, healthy urban design and community engagement with planning.
