Alaa Zahran is an academic (on sabbatical) from King Abdul-Aziz University (KAU), Saudi Arabia. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at Queen`s Management School (QMS), his research focuses on exploring the meaning and role of sustainability in higher education institutions (HEIs), concentrating on incorporating sustainability into the core domains of HEIs: teaching & learning, research, governance, operations and community outreach, through the lens of stakeholder management theory. Alaa has multiple experiences in public, private and community sectors.
