In summer 2018, Dr Norman facilitated a soundscape workshop with Syrian refugee youth in Tripoli, Lebanon. The youth engaged in sound walks, made sound maps, created a sound poem, and told sound stories. The workshop used sound to help open up stories and reflections on difficult topics, and enabled youth to explore how sound functions as a marker of place and identity, especially during conflict.
