DAFNI Belfast Roadshow October 2024
Queen's University hosted a meeting with the project Data Analytics For National Infrastructure (DAFNI) on 29th October 2024. Colleagues from the University of Ulster collaborated with Queen's to run the event.

DAFNI provides an advanced research computing platform and collaborative environment where the focus is on national infrastructure, including transport, water, and energy. DAFNI seeks to share data thereby allowing researchers to scale and integrate their computational models in order to explore in greater detail the social and environmental impacts of changes in infrastructure.
Professor Helen McCarthy, Chief Scientific Adviser for Science and Technology to the Northern Ireland Executive was the keynote speaker on Day 1. She explained how she is working with the administration to identify the scientific challenges for the region. Later that day there was a number of lightning talks from researchers at both universities.
Day 2 started with talks from DAFNI team members, from Belfast City Council and from the UK Digital Twin Centre. The event concluded successfully with a set of facilitated workshops.
For further information on the event can be found on the DAFNI event page.
