- 2020 Royal Irish Academy – Gold Medal, Prof Vince Fusco, for outstanding contributions to the Engineering Sciences.
- 2020 Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) – Research Chair / 5-year Fellowship, Prof Trung Duong, to lead a research team for “Towards Massive Connectivity to enable Ultra-Reliable and Near Zero-Latency Communications in 6G Networks”.

IMPACT IN TECH MARKETS
After years of research in the area of antennas and electromagnetic propagation for body-centric wireless communications, two of our research colleagues decided in 2020 to start up AntennaWare, to address the lack of dedicated, high-performance antenna solutions for wearables, focusing on medical and sports applications.
