Frank Delaney is an award-winning film and tv director, producer, editor, writer, composer and sound designer, with over 20 years international screen-based storytelling experience behind him.
His work has been broadcast globally and he has written, directed and produced documentary/factual films and signature TV series for broadcasters such as Discovery Channel (USA, Asia and Europe), National Geographic, MTV, CNN, RTE, TG4, PBS (USA), BBC and Channel 4. Frank’s work spans a wide range of genres, including history, science, arts, culture, sports, biography, travel and adventure.
His most recent work includes the acclaimed TV series ‘Great Lighthouses of Ireland’ which he wrote and directed, the radio documentary ‘The Whistleblower’ which won silver at this year’s New York Radio Awards, a merit award at Ireland’s Justice Media Awards and is nominated for the 2020 IMRO Awards. He also directed ‘Adrian Dunbars’s episode of the TV series Who Do You Think You Are and he has recently created the sound design for ‘The Brightside’ a feature film being launched at this year’s Cork Film Festival. He is currently developing two feature documentary film projects and a interdisciplinary multimedia project that incorporates music, storytelling, filmmaking, poetry, sound design and performance.
He is also an educator and is a senior lecturer at Queens University’s Broadcast Production programme and is an ardent promoter of the power of creativity and how creativity and creative living enriches a personal, cultural and societal life in the most unexpected of ways.
