By combining the power of poetry with the infinite visual range of AI, we can create entirely original content that is simultaneously art, poetry and music.
Consonance is a collaboration between the writers at Seamus Heaney Centre and local company Armchair and Rocket, drawing on the unique talents of Belfast digital artist Glenn Marshall and his world-leading work in artificial intelligence.
For our first project, we have worked with award-winning poet Stephen Sexton to create 4 pieces that demonstrate the process and its potential. Each piece is between 1.5 minutes and 3 minutes long – individual works of art created by using Generative Adversarial Networks to produce images that are the best efforts of these neural networks to understand and illustrate poetry.
