This is an electroacoustic music concert featuring works by Chinese composers; Bihe Wen, Lin Shen, Minjie Lu and Xiaofu Zhang. It includes fixed media sound and audiovisual art.

Bihe Wen (b.1991) is a composer from China. His works include instrumental, electroacoustic music, and collaboration work of multimedia installation. 

Bihe’s compositions have received several distinctions and prizes in international competitions, including Musicacoustica-Beijing competition (2011, 2017), Monaco International Electroacoustic Composition Competition (2014), XXVIII Luigi Russolo Contest, Leibniz’s Harmonies Prize (2016), MÉTAMORPHOSES 2016 Acousmatic Competition, XII° Destellos Competition 2019, Shanghai International Electronic Music Competition 2020, and Denny Awards (Denver International Festival of Arts & Technology) 2021 among others.

Shen Lin has studied music at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and at the Bangor University School of Music. He is an associate professor at the Shanghai Normal University Music College, director of the Music Technology Department, and vice-chairman of the Shanghai Computer Music Association (SCMA). His electroacoustic works have been performed in international music festivals and conferences. His work Return to Homeland won the ‘Prix du public’ award of 10th CONCOURS INTERNATIONAL DE COMPOSITION ACOUSMATIQUE Métamorphoses 2018.

Zhang Xiaofu is regarded as the most active cross-boundary composer in China, and the most influential Chinese composer in international electroacoustic music field. The year of 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of his working on electroacoustic music. ZHANG Xiaofu’s diverse music outputs include those for electroacoustic, orchestra, traditional Chinese orchestral music, chamber music, ballet, theater and films. His works have been constantly performed in some fifty countries and regions throughout Asia, Europe, North America and South America. As the recipient of China National Arts Fund and National Cultural Innovation Project, ZHANG has won numerous awards both in and outside of China. His music has been released on CDs worldwide. He has received awards from the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Education. He is the recipient of Denny Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award in the US.

Minjie Lu is the associate professor, master tutor at Sichuan Conservatory of Music. She was the visiting scholar of University of Oregon and viewer of ICMC. Her research focuses on interdisciplinary program including electronic music and culture. She has published 5 tutorials and translations about electronic music, 13 papers in CSSCI and Key Journal in China. In addition, her research projects has been sponsored by Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Youth Fund and China National Art Fund. Her works or papers have won prizes or been selected to present in international activities, including ICMC, SMC, IAWM, EMS, FMO, SICMF, MUSICACOUSTICA-BEIJING, CHIME, IRCAM Forum, eARTS, etc. She also contributes to electronic music education. Her students received awards given by Computer Music Composition Group of Computer Design Competition for College Students in China, MUSICACOUSTICA-BEIJING, Denny Awards, IEMC, Phil Winsor Awards, Shanghai International Electroacoustic Music Week, etc.
