The Irish Sound, Science and Technology Association (ISSTA) is delighted to partner with SARC at Queen’s University Belfast to present a two-day spatial audio workshop and concert programme for composers, sound artists and performers.

Hosted by QUB Lecturer in Digital Media and ISSTA board member Dr John D'Arcy, this Seminar will present the collaboration between the ISSTA team and the technical team at the Sonic Lab to give an overview of spatial audio theory and techniques, and how these can be harnessed to produce immersive sound creations using the 40-speaker soundsystem in the Sonic Lab at SARC.
The seminar will combine audio demonstrations with discussions and Q&A, building collective understanding of spatial audio ahead of the ISSTA presents Spatial Audio Concert on Thurs 9 March.
This seminar is open to the public and will be of particular interest to students and artists interested in exploring techniques in surround sound and ambisonics.
