The MEtime in Nature Mandala installation (September 11th - 30th) seeks to facilitate a greater awareness of self and the natural environment with the aim of evoking an urgent responsibility to take mindful care of ourselves, and our planet.
It has been created by Juanita Rea, Visiting Scholar at the School of Arts, English and Languages, Queen's University Belfast (QUB) and Arts Council Northern Ireland, Minority Ethnic Mentorship and Residency Awardee. Over the past few months, Juanita has been working with the team at the Sonic Arts Research Centre (SARC) with Prof Franziska Schroeder as mentor, receiving input and technical support from the entire SARC team and has been supported by Isaac Gibson with field recordings, post-production and installation set up.
The MEtime in Nature Mandala is a hybrid experience with in-person access to an installation at the Sonic Arts Research Centre (SARC) Multimedia Room, Queen's University Belfast (QUB) 4 Cloreen Park, September 11th - 30th, 11:00 - 19:00 daily. It can also be a fully virtual experience via the Virtual MEtime in Nature Mandala from September 11th-30th.
