Performance without Barriers
"Performance without Barriers” was delighted to be asked to give a keynote address at the "Third Interdisciplinary Conference on Disability and Consumption" Belfast, Northern Ireland, on 12 April 2024
Prof Franziska Schroeder and Dr Alex Lucas provided an overview of the group’s research, and delved into their research on accessible musical instruments as embedded in communities of practice. We particularly drew on the philosophies of the late Austrian philosopher Ivan Illich and his thoughts detailed in his book 'Tools for Conviviality' (1973).
