Sound, Space and Environment
Addressing relationships between sound, space and environment from multiple perspectives and methodologies.
We are interested in how spatiality and the sonic interact through acoustics, the social, experience, perception and creative practice. How can sound inform our understanding of the climate crisis, promote environment stewardship and contribute to more cohesive and inclusive communities? The group explores immersive sound strategies for engaging with environment which include processes of recording, intervention and reproduction. Group meetings take on the form of reading/discussion sessions, sharing of work in progress, planning conference/journal contributions.
