Education and Training
The Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine facilitates the training of young scientists and clinicians and provides the unique opportunity to work at the interface between lab-based and clinical research in a supportive dynamic environment.
The goals of the Education and Training programme are the development of skills and knowledge that enhances professionalism and facilitates staff and postgraduate student development within their research arena. We have a comprehensive programme which includes weekly seminars with intramural and extramural speakers, skills development modules, and annual events such as the Postdoctoral Research Symposium and Student Research Symposium.
As part of our strategy to encourage the best bioscience undergraduate students to progress to a career in scientific research, we offer research project placements and a Summer Studentship Scheme which provides students with the opportunity to work in research laboratories.
