Thomas O’Hagan, a 2nd year PhD student in The Fitzgerald Lab, attended the Gordon Myelin Research Conference in California, USA. The conference is a biannual meeting of the world's leading myelin biologists where Thomas presented his poster entitled 'Secreted factors of CD4+ regulatory T cells promote CNS myelination."
British Neuropathology Society Annual Meeting

Dr. Yvonne Dombrowski presented her work in a talk entitled “Toxin-mediated FoxP3 cell depletion: Impact on remyelination?”at the British Neuropathological Society meeting in London form 5th-7th March 2014.
I&I TRG Young Scientist Symposium

The entire Fitzgerald group participated in the on 25th February 2014 at Riddel Hall, Belfast. Thomas, Marie, Ulrike and Samara presented their current work in posters and Yvonne gave an oral presentation on her work on The role of regulatory T cells in CNS remyelination. Denise gave a career lecture for young researchers about Networking in science. The keynote speaker, Prof. Burkhard Becher from ETH Zurich, who was invited and hosted by Yvonne and Denise, was deeply impressed by the excellent science he encountered at QUB and had a “fecking good time” in Belfast (which he explained the direct, legitimate tranlsation of to be a 'large quantity'!).
