Research Placements and Experiences - STEM Learning
Founded by strategic partners and supporters, and managed by STEM Learning, Research Placements and Experiences allows each summer talented, enthusiastic and curious year 12 students to participate in engaging workplace experiences over July and/or August. This fantastic opportunity allows students from financially disadvantage families to apply skills and knowledge learned at school while contributing to the work of researchers and industry professionals. STEM Learning Placements and Experiences allows students to develop an understanding of career pathways.
WWIEM is pleased to support each summer this scheme. Last summer, WWIEM gladly hosted 7 students. Projects hosted by WWIEM researchers provide students with the opportunity to gain 2 weeks (Research Placement) or 5 days (Research Experience) of valuable hands-on experience in a laboratory setting alongside WWIEM researchers.
Students wishing to apply for a WWIEM project should have at least 5 GCSEs at Level 5 or above, and be studying one or more A-levels in science, technology, engineering, computing, statistics, or maths.
