UNISTEM Belfast 2023
Unistem Day 2023 brings together universities and school pupils to foster learning, discovery and debate in the field of stem cell research and regenerative medicine - and hopefully inspiring the scientists of tomorrow. This event in Belfast organised by Reinhold Medina, showcased cutting edge research from WWIEM, explored the mechanisms behind scientific breakthroughs, engaged pupils with the concepts and methodologies involved, but also provided an insight into the daily work of a researcher so that pupils will gain an appreciation for a career in scientific research. Conceived at the University of Milan in 2009, UniStem Day has now grown to include over 74 universities in over 60 cities. We had 48 high school students from two schools visit WWIEM for the day for a combination of talks, activities and building tours, with the theme of Stem Cells and Vascular Regeneration.
