Sarah joined the CAF on completion of her MPhil degree (thesis entitled: The Phasing and Dating of the Timber Circle Complex, Ballynahatty, Co. Down) in 2004. Since then she has been responsible for leading a range of projects, including field surveys, excavation and post-excavation programmes, as well as producing reports and publications. This has included undertaking the Condition and Management Survey of the Archaeological Resource, a project which involved a considerable fieldwork programme assessing the survival and condition of 1500 sites and monuments across Northern Ireland and compiling a report for publication. Sarah has directed excavations and co-directed an 8 week excavation at a 17th century church and burial ground, St Elizabeth’s Church, County Down. She has completed heritage surveys of the Belfast Hills, the Ballygroll prehistoric burial landscape and complied a Built Heritage Audit and Opportunities Report for the Lough Erne Landscape Partnership. Sarah has most recently completed a programme of research reassessing the evidence for lignite bracelet production in the north of Ireland.
