The Institute of Irish Studies and the School of History Anthropology Philosophy and Politics are hosting a conference on Gender History to celebrate the work and career of Professor Mary O’ Dowd, MRIA, First professor of Gender History at QUB

Followed by the opening of an exhibition on Women and History in honour of Professor O’Dowd by Queen’s Special Collections and Archives, in co-operation with the Institute of Irish Studies and HAPP
Speakers will include members of Queen’s academic staff, including our new professor of Gender History, Diane Urquhart. Also Professors Maria Luddy (Sussex) Gerardine Meaney (UCD) and Bernadette Whelan (Documents in Irish Foreign Policy).
