Chris Farnan
Chris joined Queens in May 2018 and his main role is to support education and occasionally research, through the design and construction of models. He is responsible for carrying out workshop, equipment and tool inductions and for overseeing a range of design operations in the model making workshop of the David Keir building.
There is a high degree of mentoring involved in the design workshop, and students rely on Chris being a source of advice as well as experience. Chris was previously employed at Musgrave Park Hospital as a Clinical Technician where he was involved in the design, manufacturing and fit of Orthotics & Prosthetic limbs. This experience has been enormously beneficial in helping him to apply detail and precision to his work, alongside his natural ability to communicate well at all levels.
Chris completed his Healthcare & Engineering degree at London South Bank University and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
