RESEARCH FOCUS
My research focuses on the effect that consuming processed meats has on colorectal cancer. Existing guidance to the public is to avoid processed meats as consumption of 50g per day increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 18%. Sausages are classified as processed meats, however there is a difference between and U.K manufactured sausage and a continental sausage. My research aims to characterize the differences each type of sausage has on cancer risk.
