Emma Healey wins Staff Excellence Award for 'Making an Impact'
On Friday 28 March, Emma Healey, Senior Technician in the School of Biological Sciences Marine Lab, deservedly won in the 'Making an Impact' category at Queen's annual Staff Excellence Awards.

Established in 2016, the Staff Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of staff across the University. This year, the Judging Panel received an incredible 270 nominations from staff and students.
Awards were presented in seven categories, each reflecting the University’s Core Values. These awards celebrate the dedication, innovation, and impact of staff who go above and beyond in their roles.
A massive congratulations to Emma Healey for her well-deserved win in the 'Making an Impact' category! This recognition is a testament to Emma's hard work, commitment and positive influence.
Emma has made a huge impact through her commitment to community engagement, education, and sustainability. Emma provides essential support to staff and students at the marine lab, offering valuable insights into local conservation and research efforts around Strangford Lough. Emma excels in public outreach and has organised impactful events such as open days, beach cleans, and workshops while continuing to inspire careers in environmental sciences.
Congratulations also goes to Dr Alison Calvert who was nominated and shortlisted in the 'Student Choice' category. A testament to Alison's dedication to our students and going above and beyond.
