School Administrator Retires After 44 Years of Service
Muriel Orr, a keystone member of the Administration Team within the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, has celebrated her retirement with current and previous School staff at the end of a 44-year career within the University.
Muriel, who was responsible for a range of aspects within the School, inlcuding supervision of the main School office, management of the School's exam processes, and coordination of accreditation processes, attended a coffee morning to celebrate her career, during which colleagues past and present had a chance to thank her for her support over the years. Muriel was also presented with a retirement gift from Head of School, Prof. Steven Bell.
Commenting on Muriel's career in the School, and her retirement, Angela Doherty, School Manager, said:
"Muriel has been a great friend and colleague to many over the years, and we will miss her very much. We wish her every happiness in her retirement, and she has promised to keep in touch so we can hear about all the interesting things she has been getting up to."
