Feminist Legal Rapid Policy Responses and How To Do Them
Doing Feminist Legal Work (DFLW) is a new network of Feminist Legal Scholars funded by the Irish Research Council of Ireland under the New Foundations Shared Island scheme. DFLW connects legal scholars across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Britain addressing emerging issues of gender and law. DFLW is a sustainable network of feminist scholars that builds on existing, but ad hoc, North/South and East/West collaborations.
The project is led by Dr Maebh Harding (UCD) and Prof Aoife O'Donoghue (QUB) The Rapid Responses workshop will develop best practice in evidence-based rapid responses to gender and the law issues. The workshop will focus on experiences of rapid responses across issues such Mother and Baby Homes, Magdalene Laundries, Reproductive Rights as well as considering future responses such as how feminist legal scholars might respond to legal changes on 'care.'
Speakers include: Dr Julie McCandless, Dr Ciara Fitzpatrick, Dr Laura Cahillane and Prof Ruth Fletcher.
