Law has been studied and taught at Queens since 1845. The years since have seen many changes and challenges for the legal profession in Belfast. Legal and political developments have drawn a great deal of interest to law throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as to the distinctive aspects of the Northern Irish legal system. In more recent years the School has had an increased focus on European, international and comparative law.
Today, the School of Law at Queen's provides students with a wide range of teaching and learning experiences that will develop and enhance the skills and personal attributes they need to pursue a successful career in a variety of professions.

The School of Law is situated in a modern state-of-the-art building in the centre of the Queen’s university campus. It provides a number of innovative teaching spaces, including the Moot Court Room interactive teaching room and also dedicated study rooms and social space for law students. With the University's social hub, Junction Café, on the ground floor, the School is at the centre of the student experience at Queen’s.
