Employability
Explore a range of career options with the versatility that a law degree provides
A qualification in Law is a great basis for many career paths and is highly regarded by many employers. In studying Law, students develop many invaluable transferable skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical skills, research skills, teamwork, and oral and written communication skills, all of which are highly desired by employers in any area of work.
Whether students choose to pursue a legal career as a solicitor or a barrister or follow the non-legal route, the school and wider university provide targeted opportunities to help students make the most of their time here.
The School provides a wide range of career-orientated events from career fairs to study tours so there is plenty of opportunity to explore the options. Students can also enhance their employability and build upon their skills by taking part in Mooting, the Global Skills Project, StreetLaw or LawPod.
The Queen’s Careers, Employability and Skills service works together with the School of Law’s Careers Liaison Advisers to support students throughout their time at Queen's, offering a comprehensive careers guidance service. It also provides students with access to the latest information on placements, graduate jobs and other opportunities via an online career management system 'MyFuture'.
