Professor Anne-Marie McAlinden wins the Kevin Boyle Book Prize 2019
The Irish Association of Law Teachers awards the Kevin Boyle Book Prize for Outstanding Legal Scholarship every two years.
Professor Anne-Marie McAlinden was awarded the Kevin Boyle Book Prize 2019 for her monograph 'Children as "Risk": Sexual Exploitation and Abuse by Children and Young People' (Cambridge Studies in Law and Society, Cambridge University Press, 2018).
The prize is awarded by the Irish Association of Law Teachers (IALT) every two years for 'outstanding legal scholarship.'
The judging panel commented: 'Professor McAlinden's book deals with an important and difficult issue in a sensitive and scholarly manner, paying careful attention to the complexities of lived experience. It is an original, significant and rigorous work; a book that changes how the reader thinks about risk in the context of sexual offending by and among children ... an essential point of reference for professionals and policymakers with an interest in the experience of childhood in the twenty first century.'
