Mrs Justice Keegan appointed as Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland
The School of Law extends its warmest congratulations to Mrs Justice Keegan on the news of her forthcoming appointment as Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland.
Mrs Justice Keegan is a graduate of the School of Law and is currently the School’s Judge-in-Residence. She was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 1994; took silk in 2006; and was appointed to the High Court in 2015.
Mrs Justice Keegan was appointed a member of the Judicial Studies Board in 2016 and became a Commissioner on the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission in 2018. She has previously served as the Senior Judicial Review Judge and, most recently, she delivered judgment in Ballymurphy Inquest. She will take up the post of Lady Chief Justice in September 2021
